I’m Ruby Hawley-Sibbett, a PhD student of English Literature at the University of Nottingham.
My passion for Austen is professional as well as personal. My research examines the use of space (settings and places) in female-authored novels from the 1810s (mainly in England and Wales). This means I’ve read many, many novels by Austen’s contemporaries and, if anything, it’s made me appreciate her craft even more.
